To my knowledge there is much more algorithmic difficulity in implementing color graduation, or mostly called, color restoration at highlights for Foveon.

The principle is simple: Sensor saturation is typical for the every color channel at a different level. If one of the channels get saturated near the highlight you change the color. The simplest way to overcome the effect is to clip at a common level after white balance with some margin before physical saturation. The clipping function contain some softness which look better.

For foveon the situation is much more difficult because the white balance have much more amount of calculation between the color channels to get a white. My experiments with different RAW developers show that the implementation could be rather different. So my guess is that an improved algorithm should work like bayer highlight color restoration.

I had tried different RAW engines. Possible you find on which is pleasant.
