Pentax is great value for specific needs

Pentax is all about the value now. Panasonic has superior pixel shift and S1 price is not that far from K-1 considering what you get.

If you shoot still subjects like calm landscapes, architecture, items or anything like that, Pentax pixel shift works well enough to outperform cameras like Nikon D850, Sony A7 III or their lesser variants. Currently Sony A7R III, Panasonic S1 and S1R outperform K-1 heavily unless you need optical viewfinder or dislike Sony ergonomics.

Do not buy Pentax, if you prefer to shoot action in tight focus range, need fast stable burst shooting or shoot video. Pentax JPEG engine sucks. If you don't like editing RAWs, stay away from Pentax, but that includes many other cameras as well. Basically Canon and Fuji have pleasant JPEG output.
