Lens variation in quality for compact cameras?

I've been reading about G7x Mark II and LX10, and it seems like lenses for these cameras have some variation, like you have a 50/50 chance of getting a soft lens.

Do Sony RX100 with the Zeiss lenses have the same quality variation?

I'm just curious as to how to test for these variations - I just ordered an LX10 and I'm getting worried about getting a soft lens and having to return it. Seems like a lot of people are particular about their lens quality on these compacts.

I guess this matters if you are enlarging photos to greater than 1m or so, but how much? I'm going on a trip soon so I'm thinking about whether or not I want to keep this camera if I get a soft lens, because I can't return it afterwards, I'd like to experiment with doing large prints for fun and for household decorations and gifts for friends.

If I get unlucky and get a soft lens will it ruin the prints, and how much?
