Recent Nikon and Canon shipments are reportedly down by 14% or so. . .
One could say oh well that's because Sony is gobbling up share. . .well yeah. .sort-of - what is really touted by sony as their claim to fame is the FF mirrorless dominance which is a relatively small percentage.

In a few years mostly FF market will be left, much of it mirrorless.

This is very unlikely and definitely NOT in terms of volume . Try to look at best selling models to see how far from reality you are now

Other than Fuji since they don't treat their smaller than FF sensor cameras as afterthoughts, why wouldn't what he's saying be pretty plausible?
When a market shrinks it's usually the extreme end of it that ends up surviving in one way or another or something very novel and niche that pulls through after the dust has settled (lomography, ilford film etc. . .)
Take for instance mobile audio players - that market dried up and what became of it were products catered to audiophiles where they can store and play very high bitrate files and synchronize to services offering that level of sound quality that mainstream services and phones don't offer. Sure they overlap phones quite a bit but there is always a market for something high end or niche.
Tomorrow's photographic market will look very much like this. You'll have some novel cameras perhaps stuff like lomography, toy cameras, film etc. . .that cater to a very minute percentage of the market and then you'll have the high end market that will cater to the visual equivalent of those audiophiles or pros. Leica, Sleek High End Fixed Lens Cameras, FF, Sports Mirrorless Cameras etc. .
For what reason would people need to carry additional equipment for general purpose photography?
