I read somewhere on this forum of a technique called “mashing the shutter” with the Ricoh GRIII camera. I think it is used for taking quick candid street photography?

What is it, and how do you do it? I’ve never heard that term or technique before.

Does it make capturing the photo faster, and is it used shooting on auto focus, manual, or with Ricoh Snap Focus feature?

Thank you.

It’s not really a technique. It can be done on any slowish camera... it just means you are hitting the shutter button faster than the camera reacts in hopes of getting the shot. The Ricoh goes one better though by giving you snap focus features that make it so you don’t need to mash the shutter button.
