Canon made a prediction about the industry - people here laughed

Recent Nikon and Canon shipments are reportedly down by 14% or so. . .
One could say oh well that's because Sony is gobbling up share. . .well yeah. .sort-of - what is really touted by sony as their claim to fame is the FF mirrorless dominance which is a relatively small percentage. These numbers really indicate a shrinking market which doesn't take a genius to see.
Canon, Nikon and Sony might be able to weather the storm. I'm not so sure if companies like Olympus and Pentax will because there is negative margin for loss there.
Comically large bodies relative to the size of the sensor. Newer tech only reserved to the top pro bodies for years on end. These are all very familiar mistakes. There is no reason why a Sony or Canon FF body should be smaller or the same size while offering much of the technology they pass down from their pro bodies for about the same cost or less of Olympus' offerings.
Olympus' stubborn legacy habits as a company hasn't really changed much either as we see parallels between the mistakes of 4/3's and m4/3's
