but i agree with veducci.   this isn't the best comparison for this argument.

i think you should have posted the unprocessed result from your canon.    to me, this one looks over cooked.   the robes look good but skin tones are suffering.   (just my opinion...   she looks like she needs to get out of the library and get a bit of sun... might be your post processing?)        take it from me as someone approaching 70 i'd rather someone post a photo of me from their phone that can take ten years off my appearance by not having the resolution to show every wrinkle, crow feet, circles under eyes, sun damaged skin,  etc.   ( i am talking about me here )

we all carry these phones and use them more than we thought we would.   there's nothing wrong with using your phone for moments like this.... used to be called 'kodak moments'.     pull out that old shoebox or family photo album and take a look.   it won't be the quality of the photo you'll be looking at.   it will be the memory
