Manual Focus K1 II vs. Sony A7 III

Hi,

I've become very enthralled by the world of m42 lenses as of late. This throws a wrench in my plans of switching systems for better AF. If I'm going to change my style of photography completely and move to manual focus glass, then there's no real point in spending gazillions to get a mirrorless body and lenses that can autofocus like lightning if all I'm going to be using it for is manual focus. Unless, of course, the manual focus aids on the A7 are so far superior to the K1 that it makes the A7 III not only the better camera for AF, but also the better camera for MF.

What digital aids to manual focussing do these two systems offer, and how good do they work in practice? The K1 will offer focus confirmation in the optical viewfinder I'm sure, but other than that, I don't know what else. I assume focus peaking in live view. Anything else? How easy/fast is it to work with focus peaking out in the field? And what about magnification? Any way to rapidly zoom in and back out? How's the usability?

And of course, I'm comparing this to the idea of getting an A7. So if anyone has experience manual focusing with the A7, it would be great to hear your experience.

I do also focus using the viewfinder in my k5 and get over 50% keepers with the viewfinder magnification, so if the K1 is significantly better for manual focussing through the viewfinder than a k5, I'd want to hear about that too.
