Has anyone actually measured the charging rate of the EOS-R over USB-C? Only getting USB BC 1.2

Usbc charging on the r is really slow. Pretty sure that was by design of canon to not supercharge their batteries.

The wall charger is way faster. The pd chargers takes forever.

As far as I can tell, it's not even a USB-PD capable device. It's conforming to the USB Battery Charging spec 1.2, which defines charging (with possible data) as 1.5A at 5V max, which is what this camera charges at. BC 1.2 is very old, it's compatible with the USB Type A, B and C form factors, and it's the predecessor of USB Power Delivery (which is only compatible with Type C). BC 1.2 is not really super slow as normal USB 2.0 (500mA) or 3.0 (900mA) would be, but it's also not what is considered USB-C fast charging. USB-C can do up to 3A at 5V even without the Power Delivery spec (with a C-to-C cable). With Power Delivery, it can go higher voltage, 9V, 12V (optional), 15V and 20V, and up to 3A with any C-to-C cable, and 5A with special "e-marked" cables.

Would have been nice if Canon at least provided a Power Delivery rule that matched the speed of the wall charger. It's baffling how camera manufacturers are still lagging so much behind mainstream tech compared to, say, phones. My Nexus 6 has more powerful charging and WiFi tech than this $2300 camera.
