Yes, agree! Maybe we have to differentiate...

A) if you shoot with two cameras simultaneously, I would go for the same body type

B) if you have different use cases requiring different bodies, well, choose the best fit

C) if the backup cam is really really a backup for rare cases, an older body will do the job

I bought an old but mint X-M1 this weekend for (B), be able to have it with me every day. But it might serve for (C) as well
