I was willing to put up with the significantly smaller image and was interested in that camera too, but I have seen comments by two trusted reviewers that there is very long lag, maybe a second or two, for the evf to turn on with the X-E3 and one comment that the proximity sensor switch just does not work very well if you wear glasses. I could not put up with that.

Glasses-wearing X-E3 owner here - happy to confirm that I have not experienced either of those issues. EVF startup very snappy on mine - maybe it was fixed by firmware?

Hi, nor me, never experienced any lag, including on a beach walk this afternoon.

If you leave it on and it gees to sleep, then like all Fuji-s, my XT3 included, there is a second from half pressing the shutter button until everything is ready. But, as I say, this happens on the XT3 too. I just press the shutter button as I lift the camera to my eye and the EVF is on and ready to goes by the time my eye is looking through it.
