Great images, love the first one.

Wow. Even that one where you're panning with the bike almost upon you, it's tack-sharp! Is the EM1X AI AF focusing on the helmet? Amazing, however it works.

I'm now seriously considering saving for the E-M1X over the E-M1Mk2.

How do you find the caf+tr performance? Does it track riders well?

Can't speak for David, but I've found the tracking mode does very well if you can use one of the AI modes but the general tracking is very hit or miss. On some subjects it works very well, but then on others it seems to jump to the background the first chance it gets. It certainly has potential, but I would want to depend on it for something important.

I've not tried the AI tracking stuff yet...but with regards to what you have found wouldn't setting/using the AF limiter help with that matter?

That might prevent the camera from actually focusing on the background but it won't keep the camera from putting the AF point somewhere you don't want it.

i started off using the tracking mode, it does work but as soon as a new bike entered the veiw finder it instantly put a white box round it and then the focusing started to drift off after a while i went back to using just caf

i see. With AI tracking we can not use our choice of AF targets (such as 3x3, 5x5,or single)?

With regular tracking your initial target is specified by the chosen AF point, but with AI tracking it's completely controlled by the camera.

ahh I get it now...we just point the camera and press the shutter. thanks for your time.
I’ll have to give AI tracking a try sometime.

Hello!

Hello!

who's fro ?
FroKnowsPhoto, i.e. Jared Polin, is a youtube reviewer. He didn't heap praise on the E-M1X during his review so many here hate him even though his review was quite fair.
