The X-E3 is a good addition to a bigger camera.  I use mine not as backup (though it is), but when I want a smaller, lighter body.  The EVF is an improvement in bright light and as presbyopia sets in I use it to review shots as it has my prescription is dialled in but the rear LCD needs reading glasses.  I went from X-E2 to X-E3 mainly to avoid doubts about taking a 24 Mp or a 16 Mp camera.  In point of fact it isn't easy to see a difference in output, I did some careful comparisons before trading.  USB charging is good as my brain is heading the same way as my eyes and forgetting the charger is all too common.
