I bought this lens as a combo for the 80d in January.  When I first tried it the weather and light were rather gloomy. The first results were therefor not that terrific. I saw a rather negative review of Dustin Abbott on youtube. "Great lens but never gets really sharp..."

This rather influenced my opinion about this lens. I feared it to be a waste of money and thought that cheap primes (24, 40 and 50) which I owned would give better results.

However, now that the light is good I have to acknowledge my mistake. This is an excellent lens and just as sharp as those primes. Colour rendition is far better (warmer).

I can really recommend this lens without any reservation.
