5G and Intel in the news

5G and Intel in the news

So it was recently announced that Intel is dropping it's "5G Mobil Modem" efforts.  Intel is still continuing development for the 5G infrastructure.  Basically at the same time Apple and Qualcomm announced a multiyear agreement for Apple to use Qualcomm 5G modem chips, which is the part of 5G that is in the smartphone (separate and different from the 5G infrastructure)

The computer/silicon market is very complex and the competition is fierce. Who knows how this will all playout over the coming years. But competition is good for us, the consumers!

Disclosure: I'm still against 5G, but I thought this news might be of interest to forum members here.
