I found sets like you described on amazon and they are rated good from the users. So if I do this as described there is no big risk of damaging something?

One "cheap UK source" includes a bottle of ROR. While I am not an expert I have doubts about ROR for sensor cleaning.

If you have good eyesight, a steady hand, a reasonably dust free room (bathrooms can be good), good light and you are prepared to use a second swab for a stubborn mark; I consider wet cleaning is not difficult.
