A tough call: the best travel backpack to Fuji X system

Hello everyone,

Nice to e-meet you all, it’s my first post around here.

I’m a happy, 1.8m tall and new Fuji X system shooter, currently searching for a new travel bag for my equipment (I live in Spain-EU):

Fuji X-T3 with the 18-55 kit lens; 23 f2; 35 f2; 16 f1.4 and 56 f1.2.

Additionally, I have: GoPro 4 and accessories. Lee Filter system w/ Big Stopper filter only. 2 PD straps: cuff and slide lite. 2 extra batteries and chargers. Cleaning stuff (rocket blower, etc…), SD Card Holder, Mini Fuji Flash (came with the camera), Manfrotto PIXI mini tripod, Sirui T-2205X tripod (folds to 40cm) , Rode Videomic Rycote (sometimes).

Extra stuff that I most likely take with me in trips are: a book, Bose QC35II headphone with its case, water bottle (less than 1L) and MacBook pro 15” touchbar (slimmer).

Soon, I plan to add a small DJI drone in the game like the Spark or MavicPro2 and a pro Flash (Godox tt350F most likely).

Nowadays, I pack almost everything in the only bag I current own (National Geographic): https://www.amazon.es/National-Geographic-C%C3%A1mara-media-Mochila/dp/B0042JEC9K/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_es_ES=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&crid=3PHOJF15MV3OA&keywords=national+geographic+mochila+camara&qid=1556178797&s=gateway&sprefix=national+geog%2Caps%2C165&sr=8-1

I really like it for the town and lightness, however, fully packed is quite uncomfortable to travel or hike as it feels super heavy on back and everything gets super tight internally (I even got some bad scratches on the top of the camera because a lens jumped over it :/).

I narrowed my options to 4 backpacks that basically have the same concept: laptop sleeve, average or very good space for personal belongings (like a light jacket) and, of course, the full photographic equipment I’m aiming to have.

MindShift Backlight 26 L [https://www.photospecialist.es/mindshift-backlight-26-l-mochila-fotografica-bosque ] - 228€

PROS: ton of space for everything, good hike profile and don’t call so much attention as camera backpack

CONS: can’t remove waist straps if want a more urban profile (cumbersome sometimes I guess), no side or top access to the camera, no shoulder adjustments on backpack straps, don’t know if it’s too big for the Fuji system (maybe too deep?)

Lowepro Flipside 400 AW II [https://www.photospecialist.es/lowepro-flipside-400-aw-ii-mica-pixel-camo] – 129€

PROS: good space for everything, good hike profile, compact

CONS: no side or top access to the camera, laptop sleeve in the same part of camera compartment, maybe too deep for Fuji?

WANDRD PRVKE 31L [https://www.wandrd.com/collections/shop/products/prvke] - ~310€

PROS: amazing space for personal belongings with its roll top (could even use to store many clothes to a short trip), stylish and very different from standard camera bags, looks very resistant, practical for almost everything in town or hiking and customizable; side access to camera

CONS: very pricey; poor space for photography equipment compared with others (even the medium cube in this version. 21L way too small); laptop sleeve in the same part of camera compartment

Tenba Shootout 24L [https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B07JHYRT4J/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=A2BUZWFY526BFQ&psc=1] – 245€

PROS: good space for everything, straps to attach to small luggage pole, side access to camera

CONS: pricey in EU, front and not back access like other options (less secure in theory), poor space for personal belongings compared with others.

5th way – considering an extra small bag for the essentials (when the full travel bag won’t be necessary or too cumbersome in my trips.)

Combine the National Geographic itself or the PRVKE (super pricey though) with the Peak Design Everyday Sling 5L and PD Capture ( to leave more internal space with camera attached out of it) that looks an awesome bag for street photography or a daily one (would the Bose headphones, at least, fit in it with the Fuji 23/35f2 combo you think?) - [https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B076B2NYGC/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=A1AT7YVPFBWXBL&psc=1] - 115€

Any ideas or considerations from owners of these bags? Other suggestions?

Big messenger bags are discarded, since my shoulder has problems: I can’t put too much weight on only one of them due to vertebra protrusions in neck.

Thank you guys!
