Is it safe to remove an electronic lens from the A6300 while power is on?

I think it's fine on Canon bodies, but the Sony manual says to turn off power before removing or attaching a lens.

However, I have a problem with the Samyang 35mm f2.8 lens on the A6300, where if I previously powered on with the Samyang lens attached, power off, then change to a manual non-electronic lens, the Samyang lens name will be written into EXIF for the images shot with the manual lens, instead of being blank. I found that the quickest way to clear the EXIF data was to remove the Samyang lens while power is still on. But is it safe to do so?

The only other way to clear the EXIF after powering off with the Samyang lens, was to change to a Sony or Sigma electronic lens, power on, power off, and then finally change to the manual lens. But that takes quite a lot of time.
