X-S1 - Dust in viewfinder

It looks as though dust has gotten into the eye viewfinder. It's not present in the external viewfinder. If I look through the eyepiece in slightly different angles, the expected LCD display remains still, while the dust motes move relative to the LCD display. Additionally, when I adjust the eyepiece's focus, the dust motes don't focus when the expected display does focus correctly. Theqquantity of motes is increasing. Finally, the dust motes are a slightly greenish yellow.

I've tried blowing into the focus knob on the viewfinder, ditto for the flash arms, and the eyepiece itself. No change.

Two questions: how is dust getting into the viewfinder, and how I remove it?

Due to budget cuts, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.
