Before I upgraded to my T7i the Canon EOS Utility would automatically open w/o opening up the Windows Import Pictures/Videos program. In addition the DPP would also automatically open but now it doesn't.
In a nutshell:
1. How do I get my computer to NOT automatically open Windows Import Pictures/Videos program? EOS already opens automatically when connected to the camera so I'm not sure why the Windows utility opens. Yes, I have the EOS software as the primary utility to open my camera files.
2. How do I get DPP to open automatically like it used too? Now I have to manually open it.

What version of Windows are you running? Your options and available paths probably vary at least slightly depending.
My photo machine is running Win7, when I installed the software with the SL2, I had a similar problem.
What happened is that at some point Canon decided to make two different versions of EOS Utility, presumably instead of just continuing to update the one version. At that point they just outright broke the Windows autoplay functionality and instead required their new "EOS Utility Launcher" to take it's place. The EOS Launcher is what launches the appropriate version of EOS Utility. Personally it seems weird to me that updating the old EOS Utility was so hard that Canon would do this huge messy kluge to avoid it, and I say that as a former software developer.
When I first ran into this, I had kind of automatically disabled the EOS Launcher as I generally dislike wasteful parasitical programs running constantly sucking resources. And then I went back and forth with Canon support in Email trying to figure out why I absolutely could not get Windows Autoplay to work with the new software.
