A zoom lens is not a prime-probably never as sharp or sharper than the Sigmas...but this is the Sony APSC forum- so I assume you mean "24-70" equivalent. The 18-135 is one choice, but the f4 16-70 Zeiss is another and probably better. I've found it to be compact and surprising sharp and versatile without some of the minor compatability problems of the Sigmas. I have Sony and Zeiss primes in the range of that zoom that are faster and sharper. (that's the advantage of primes). I'll pay for those and you can keep the Sigmas! Most of the time I travel and walk around with the zoom on my a6500, not the primes.

I have found the Sigma 16 1.4 to be an excellent all purpose lens. I generally have it mounted on my a6400 with the Sony 18-135 available if needed...but many of my needs are full filled by the single prime. The 1.4 aperture is a huge advantage in many situations; the lens is so sharp that significant cropping can get you closer if necessary along with a foot zoom.

Too wide for me , I use the Sony 35 f 1.8 ("nifty fifty" equivalent) more to my shooting style. To each his own...
