Modify adapter to not trip EF switch?

Hi folks,

I have an EOS 1D (original). Tried it today with an FD/EF adapter and an FD 15/2.8 Fisheye. Worked OK to mount and focus, but when I released the shutter the camera locked up with Error 01.

I've read that this is because the adapter is tripping the micro switch in the upper left corner looking into the mount. Is there a decent process to cut a notch or something in the adapter with a Dremel to correct this behavior?

Thanks,
Paul
