Does focus peaking seem accurate to you?

Does focus peaking seem accurate to you?

To me, it seems like when I look at the highlights on my EVF or LCD, it doesn't look like much of the subject is going to be in focus, but later when I look at the picture (either while chimping or at home on the big screen), much more is in focus than was indicated by the highlights.

I also have a hard time seeing the effect of stopping down (more and more should become highlighted) while of course while chimping or on the big screen later the deeper DOF is obvious.

So, is the focus peaking is just showing MOST in focus area rather than all of the "acceptably" in-focus area?

Or at least that Fujifilm is being very conservative in this regard?
