Reddish egrets are plentiful on the Southwest Florida Gulf coast. Quite comical to watch when feeding in the shallows and tide pools. They do quite the dance and use their wings to create shadows on the water to reduce glare to better see fish.

Thanks for that. Terrific shots. I’m pretty sure that particular species is not to be found in this part of the country and I don’t recall having seen images of it posted here previously.
