GX9 & Dual IS lens incompatibility - what means?

I am a new owner of the GX9 with the kit 12-60 lens.  I read that some micro four thirds lens (older ones) are not compatible with the dial IS on the GX9.  What the heck does that mean?  For example, the older 14-140 with mega OIS is said to be incompatible with dual is.  Will it not still work fine (as a non-stablized lens) with the IBIS of the body?  Does incompatible simply mean that the mega OIS of the lens does not work together with the IBIS.  Would someone please clarify.  Thanks, Dave
