Anyone have any experience with this exact combo? I'm looking to pick up a new camera for just general purpose, take everywhere kind of photos with a small footprint.

I've seen a lot of the negative reviews on the XT100's AF performance, but I see that quite a few firmware updates have been issued so I wonder if peoples complaints have been addressed?

I'm sure most of my use will be single point AF in AF-S with Av priority, and just sending the jpegs straight to my phone; Nothing fancy and probably very little RAW editing and definitely no video.

I'm just curious if the 40% AF coverage and AF performance has impacted anyone negatively in regular use, too.

For comparison, I have an M50 that is super small and takes good jpegs, but the battery life is pretty terrible and it has its own pains with the EVF sensor and lack of dials, among other things.

Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated!

not the X-T100, but I owned the XF27 and it was one of my favorit lenses!

It didn't produce the bokeh images, that many lust after. but for me (with kids), it was a bargain: small, super fast AF on my (X-T1, X-T10), good colors and a perfect FOV. Shot it around f4 predominantly - no issues and many keepers.

and 40% AF coverage is not that bad. I had a X-Pro1, X-100T, X-T10 and X-T1 and am used to the 9 AF fields. In Fact, I don't use the many fileds of the X100F  (and thus the joystick). I don't mind recompose or even better: manual focus. the focus assist is amazing in good light. bad light? switch to B/W with red H peaking.

I hope you get the XF27. It's available for 200 used
