Thanks for the link. I think I have a pretty good solution for the grip. I bought a cheap L plate for like 5 US bucks and attached it the other way around. Not the most comfortable but it works really well. Plus it just looks better for me.

I've taken a very different approach that suits me for this particular camera - a wrist strap. Might not sound like it helps, but it does for me, and seems to fit nicely with how I like to use this camera
