Why I don't like cell phones for travel
20

I've been saying it for many years - the biggest problem with cell phones as cameras is lack of focal length range. This year looks to be the year that will finally change, but for now, it's still a problem, at least for me.

These are just some shots from me and my family's last family vacation that happened to be taken at nearly the same time by my wife's Galaxy S8 and my 7D Mark II.  It's not that these are all my favorite shots from the trip, just that these happen to be pretty much directly comparable.

For me, lack of focal length range is a deal-breaker. I carry a 24-105 equivalent pocket compact in the same pocket as my cell phone largely because of this issue. I've heard people say they can go on vacation with a single prime. That's absolutely not for me. If it were, I wouldn't have bought an interchangeable lens camera.
