A few years ago I shot an event, but I didn't have a 'standard' zoom for my Nikons, so I hired a 24-70 f/2.8 (not the current version, the previous non-VR one).

It's not a lens I wanted or had considered buying.... but it made perfect sense for this one job.... long story short is I bought one a few weeks later.... because, well, it didn't just work, it worked really really well.

I just borrowed a Fuji 16-55 f/2.8 (aka The Brick) for the weekend.... and already have the same feeling.... good range, lovely rendering/bokeh. It just takes nice images.

Yes, it is big and heavy, but balances perfectly on X-T2 with grip. But weight is relative.... only a bit more than 3 of the small primes.

But three small primes would look really funny attached the same time

I see irrational justification syndrome kicking in as a response to GAS.

I just sold my 60mm, with the intention to buy the 50mm f/2..... but..... but.....

Enjoy your new Brick.
