Previous models of Surface tablets were not serviceable, for instance it was difficult to replace the battery, although this might be fixed in current (6) models. However the Surface screens have a reputation for excellent color and resolution.

If I were you, I wouldn't buy anything without screws on the back and clear on-the-web instructions for upgrading or replacing various components such as memory and battery.
