Questions for SL2 Users

I've been a Canon 80D user for years, with the 60D and 70D before that.  I'm also in my seventies and am looking for lighter gear.  I've downsized from the 100-400ii to the 70-300L and that's helped some.  It's currently my walkaround lens.  Right now I'm trying out the 77D and finding it to be a pretty good body, lighter than the 80D but not by much.   I currently shoot landscapes and wildlife mostly from my car.  Typically, the wildlife I shoot isn't moving that fast.  Occasionally, I will get a Sandhill Crane or Great Blue Heron in flight but I don't shoot a lot of BIF.   I never shoot movies.  My normal way of shooting is in manual mode with shutter speed at 1/1000, aperture wide open depending on my focal length, and auto ISO.  I use exposure compensation as needed after checking the histogram.

I'd like to go lighter still.  I'm intrigued by the new SL3 that's just been announced. When I do side-by-side comparisons with the SL3, 77D, and Rebel t7i, the three bodies look almost identical.  For those that use the SL2, how do you like it?  What features is it missing that wouldn't show up in the side-by-side comparison.  How is the AF?  Thanks so much.
