D800: LENS STRUGGLING TO TURN WHEN CAMERA IS HELD PORTRAIT

Im using the nikon nikkor 70-210mm f/4-5.6 AF and the nikon nikkor 28-85mm 3.5-4.5 AF lens.

The problem I'm having only happens with the 28-85mm. When i use the camera and shoot portrait view, the 28-85 lens gets stuck some times when focusing back towards infinity. Its like the lens or the camera AF motor is grinding.

Im hoping its the lens with it being dry on the inside and may need oiled.

Im using the d800. This issue didn't start until after a 4 hour fashion show i was covering. During that time I was using the 28-85mm lens,,,

does anyone know if this could be a sign of the cameras AF mother failing or the problem is with the lens
