Be very wary of the new Commlite EF to FX adapter

Alright...
As a matter of background information, over the past year I posted my findings with regard to the Viltrox adapter that allows you to use various Canon lenses with your Fuji gear. I was horribly disappointed with that adapter and the 3 EF-S lenses I tried to use it with, failed miserably to autofocus. Now some folks indicated that they had more luck using various EF lenses. But even though the Viltrox was advertised to function with EF-S lenses, that certainly wasn't the case. I was lucky if I could get these lenses to AF 5% of the time. So it had to be sent back - even after a half dozen attempted fixes by the manufacturer.
OK - then I posted about the Fringer Pro adapter which is an absolutely superb instrument. No if's, and's or but's about it, the Fringer is the premier adapter of the type that allows folks to use their Canon lenses on Fuji cameras. I cannot say enough about that product.
But as is always the case, my curiosity got the best of me. A few weeks ago, I saw a new Commlite model EF to X adapter being advertised. It was suspiciously priced as low as some of the similar Viltrox adapters on eBay. I purchased it off of Amazon instead. I had assumed it would arrive in a month, but instead, it arrived this morning - a real surprise.
I wasted no time attaching it to the 4 Fuji cameras I own - the X-T1, X-E2, X-A5, and X-T100. I "tried" to use it with the following EF-S lenses:
EF-S 18-55 F3.5-5.6 IS STM.
EF-S 10-18 F4.5-5.6 IS STM
EF-S 55-250 F4.5-5.6 IS STM
I even made sure that the Commlite had the latest 1.21 firmware update. But alas, I was shocked to see that it both looked and behaved like the previous Viltrox I had - that is it rarely could it successfully AF. Only on several occasions, when I didn't expect it, would I see the AF green lock indicator. No matter what I did, it would not focus at all - and forget putting your camera into the single box AF mode because regardless of where you try to focus, it won't!
So I left word with the manufacturer about a pending return. Again, the ole' adage, "you get what you pay for," holds true here. The Fringer adapter costs around $300 to $350 USD, but it's damn worth every penny - it's that good. The Viltrox and now this Commlite are total disappointments. Don't think because they are so cheap that you are getting a deal. Take it from me, the gear guinea pig - don't waste your money on this one. Get (and keep) the Fringer. But again, maybe it may work better with the Full Frame EF lenses, who knows. But unless they can provide a fix, it's going back big time!
OK, I'm done.
