Shooting in dual pixel RAW eliminates banding?
Shooting in dual pixel RAW eliminates banding?

I have had my R for a few weeks now and noticed (under very limited circumstances) some red/green noise banding when recovering very dark shadows to mid-level brightness. Of around 500 photos taken on a short trip to Iceland , I had to be mindful of banding on less than 10 shots which were taken hand held and which contained shadow areas which were almost black.
During a shoot at a local cove last weekend I turned on dual pixel RAW with the intent of playing with the files in Canon DPP. When processing the images in Lightroom, however, I have noticed that without dual pixel RAW on I am able to produce banding in shots which I purposly under-exposed as a test. However, I can not produce banding in any RAW file taken in dual pixel mode.
I intend to do some proper testing this weekend, but for now I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this?
Here are a few landscape photos I have taken with my new R ....
