Using a Pentax lens on the EOS M100

I have ordered a Pentax-A 50mm F1.4 manual focus lens for my Chinon film camera. I have seen on the internet that a Pentax K mount to EOS M adapter is available. I realize everything would be manual operation. There are no electronic connections between the adapter and the camera, so I would think the aperture value would be set on the lens, and the SS on the camera. So would getting correct exposure be to estimate exposure via AV and SS settings and then check the image playback to fine tune exposure. From reading the detail about the adapter, you need to enable shutter release without lens.

I would probably use the lens mostly for some portraits.

Thanks for any comments.

Ronnie.
