Re: My new Fringer Pro EF to FX Adapter

I decided to test how the new version of Fringer firmware works. Compared to the test I did last summer and several versions ago it seems now to work much better.

When I anyhow had to give the dog a run I took the opportunity to test a EF 70-200/4 IS against the 50-140/2.8 OIS with and without a 1,4 TC.

The result for the 70-200/4 IS is when it comes to AF-S very good. The AF now sets the focus fast and very accurate.

Some pictures with 70-200

When it comes to moving subjects the AF-C is still very slow and not up to the task. I tried several times but only nailed  the sharpness on the dog once.

On the way back I shift to Fujinon 50-140/2,8 and tried again.

This works very much better but I will not bore you with several photos.

I  then added the TC 1.4.

I quickly can set focus on a BIF suddenly passing. AF-C works very myuch faster than with the 70-200

MY conclusion is that both works for slow moving subjects. For crazy running dogs or birds in flight the Fringer adapter will not work well enough.
