Sigma 30/2.8

The ISO was set to 1600 and this is a somewhat better lit area than other parts of the room. I did want mainly her face/head for the photo. I experimented with the ISO and the lowest I could go was about 800 without photo being blurry due to slow shutter speed and my not so steady grip.

I forgot (duh!) that I have a Sigma 30/2.8. I rarely use it so it was out of sight and out of mind. I also have a Sigma 19/2.8.

Nice! You mentioned a bit back that you wouldn't use flash, and I agree. It would be distracting. How about raising the ambient light? When I need to "kick things up a bit" I use a LumeCube. They're very small, portable, very bright (1500 lumens at full power), which makes them easy to place. I'd bounce off the ceiling.
