fuji xpro 2

I have been using the x-pro 2 for a couple of months now after scaling down or back -whichever way you wish to look at it - from my normal canon kit.

I already had the X-E2 so was quite familiar with what Fuji had to offer. After viewing countless reviews; mostly on video by some well known photography vloggers and photographers I took the plunge.

To spare readers all the waffle, I will start and end this with a short conclusion.

The quality is second to none. It feels great in the hand.  It's light - a major factor in scaling down.

Well built, glass is terrific, we all know that.

HOWEVER, my two major gripes are:

None of the video reviews ever mentioned battery life in the real world is around 4 hours!  And, its super complicated with so many functions that it drives me to distraction.

If I were to design a similar camera, I would strip it back to basics. Yes, the Leica would be a natural alternative but at a huge cost.

I fail to see why all the film simulations are necessary for example; post production in photoshop/lightroom negates this feature.

Many reviewers loved the Acros feature, again, post production makes this redundant, so what's the point?

Virtually all the extra features can be achieved in post production.  So why have them at all? All these consume battery life.

Really, if you're in the market for such a camera, I would assume you are a competent photographer and all you really require is a simple means of changing the ISO - way too fiddly and the basic functions of a pre digital camera.  Virtually everything else is superfluous.
