I only have in-store experience with the X-T100, since it didn't convince me when i was testing it out. I also own the 27/2.8 and love the lens.
The 27/2.8 has the old focus motor, which isn't the fastest one, but works very well on my X-T2. There is still some hunting every now and then, so I expect it to perform quite a bit worse on the X-T100.
Maybe instead of the X-t100 you could go with the a (used) X-T20 or even the X-T30, both oh which perform better in AF compared to the X-T100.
I definitely considered the XT20 as they are both around the same price on the grey market right now. It may seem like a small thing, but I actually prefer the dials and feel of the XT100 compared to the XT20 after using a friends. And an even smaller plus for the XT100 is I absolutely love the gold color scheme. None of which are dealbreakers in the grand scheme of things, of course.
There's no real tangible difference between the jpeg output between the Bayer and the X Trans is there? The image quality on DPR's test scene shows both are pretty exceptional.
There is a tangible difference between xtrans raw and Bayer raw, if you are using raw and Lr the Ed tool brings the files to a comparable level, but without it I would of just stayed with x-t100, it’s easier to use and. much more quicker to navigate, but I wanted a weather proof body as well and ibis for video, so have both. I can honestly say I feel more confident about x-t100 output c/w x-h1! But x-h1 serves its purpose, POV jpg are better from x-t100, turn nr off though -2 in settings and either 0 sharp or -1 to taste 👍
