I only have in-store experience with the X-T100, since it didn't convince me when i was testing it out. I also own the 27/2.8 and love the lens.

The 27/2.8 has the old focus motor, which isn't the fastest one, but works very well on my X-T2. There is still some hunting every now and then, so I expect it to perform quite a bit worse on the X-T100.
Maybe instead of the X-t100 you could go with the a (used) X-T20 or even the X-T30, both oh which perform better in AF compared to the X-T100.
