I can't convince myself enough to buy the Sony 70-200mm gm lens because of the price. I have saved up money for it, but i can't get over the fact that i'm just a amateur photographer and none of these photos I take are going to pay off the equipment i have purchased. Do any of you get this problem?

Renting the 70-200mm GM is the only way to determine. Otherwise, you are only guessing if a specific amateur is well served by a sharper lens with more stops of IS, less CA, weather proofing, faster focusing, and a constant f/2.8.

I want better pictures of family and pets. Neither will sit still very long for pics and are often in poor lighting. Therefore, it is worth it to me to buy a better lens.
