Landscape and Astrophotography

Hey friends,

I've been shooting for a few years on some cheap gear, and I think I'm finally ready to build out my kit and get serious. I just landed an A7iii, the kit lens and a 70-200 f/4. Now I'm trying to decide on the right lens balance for shooting landscapes and astros. The options are:

  • Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 GM as an all around wide-angle landscape/astro shooter.
  • Sony 24mm f/1.4 and the 12-24mm f/4.
  • Just the Sony 24mm and just do panoramas if I need to go wider.

I suppose I'm open to other suggestions too, if you know of a good combo that can tackle landscapes during the day and night.

I'd prefer not to spend $3k for the second option, I'd like the flexibility of the first option, but I'm also pretty sure I could make the third option work.

Any thoughts here?
