"Photographer's mood"
1

I'll try to make it short.

True, there may be one day when cellphones will allow for everything that today's DSLRs do. Probably remote, but possible.

However, I am not sure what others think, but when I go to take pictures, it has to be primary goal of my going out. Or at least a big part of it. I put a "photo hat" on and scan surroundings for pictures.

Without it, it is mostly travel photos, souvenirs, memory lanes etc. I cannot be doing two things at the same time, particularly when I am not alone.

I cannot imagine myself in this "photo mood" 24/7, which is how I carry my cell phone.

I go through dry periods, when I do not take pics at all, do not do any PP at home, nothing. Then I get an urge so to speak, and I do it because I feel like doing it.

A close friend of mine, an orthopedic surgeon, has the same thing. He does not like talking about it when you ask him for advice, unless it is urgent. It is not money, or privacy, or wasted time. He says, when he is in his office, with doctor's apron on, with surgeon's hat on, he thinks differently. He concentrates. He is a close enough friend for me to know that there are no other motives.

So yes, cellphones may become as good as DSLRs, but would we be able to be photographers 24/7.

Certainly not me.
