Superbloom in the Sonoran desert

While the local "superbloom" pales in comparison with the scale and richness of the blooms in the Walker Valley in California, it is still exciting to see  the normally arid and dusty Sonoran landscape covered with color. Here is a small sampling.

On the desert schist the growth tends to be more sparse....

Mexican poppies and lupines.

A close look at mexican poppies (it was a windy day and I discovered in post processing that my front lens element was covered with tiny pollen specks.  I think I managed to get most of these cleaned up)

Not really a desert plant, but I thought I would throw in a spring blossom from a flowering shrub...
