Poor gatorboard quality? Or am I too picky?

Please see below photo. I ordered 20x adhesive-backed gatorboards of various sizes from artgrafix. All of the boards have some random array of dots/grit between the adhesive layer and the board itself. (The photo below is of a board with the adhesive protection paper removed. The dots you're seeing are between the board and the adhesive applied to the board by artgrafix. Every board has dots, but in a random array. The photo is just one of the 20 boards).

My question for all of you: Is this normal? Is it normal for 20 out of 20 of the boards I've ordered to have these dots in them? They show through on mounted photos unfortunately As far as I can tell these boards are useless for my purpose of photo mounting, but that is exactly what they were sold to me for.

What gives? Am I too picky? Is there any way to reclaim these boards? Is this normal product quality for Artgrafix?

Thanks!
