Monitor help wanted.

I have a Dell 24-inch monitor (U2412M) with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 that I use for working in Photoshop and viewing my photos. I am thinking about buying a larger 27 or 32-inch monitor, maybe a 4k model, with sharper images if possible. My eyesight isn’t the best anymore and I’d enjoy viewing larger, sharper photos.

After I process my photos, I often resize them down to 1600 x 1067 pixels or thereabouts so that I can email them or show them in various online photo forums. I am now wondering if my photos would look much better on a larger monitor with higher resolution after I’ve converted them to 1600 x 1067 dpi? If they wouldn’t look much different after the downsizing, I would forget about buying a bigger, better monitor.

As you can see, I’m not very savvy about monitors, resolution, etc. and would appreciate any helpful advice or information.

Thank you for any help.
