Hello

I have a question about AF-C mode.

I using a Sony Nex 5T for almost 7 years now and have many of E mount lens.

But the recently A6xxx is very less appealing than Fuji's.

And just as you, I tried my friend XT20 and finding that working RAW file with LR is an horror so I considering switch to non X trans Fuji as well.

The tracking mode in Nex 5T was great for the time and I enjoyed shooting candid portrait. with just tap at subject and where ever he might go to the tracking nailed the picture in to focus.

If XT100 has the same continue focus unit as XT20 and Bayer sensor I wouldn't be hesitated but since its not I have a question.

In Fuji's firmware update (1.20) it was specified that it has improved it AF-C when half shutter was pressed. Can you demonstrated? Dose it mean that if I set the focus point at one person and half press while I'm on AF-C it will track that person?

The accuracy and speed is improved in AF-C compare to original firmware?

Thank you.

All you say above scream a6400. Tracking is awesome from what we saw in reviews.

You already have many E mount lenses.

And you are used to lightroom.

You photograph people a lot so full time eye/face tracking is a bonus. It even recognizes a person within a crowd.

The X-T100 AF-C will never be up to the level of the X-T20, because the hardware is worst. With my X-T20 the 23mm f2 is a good lens in AF-C almost in every situation, not so much with X-T100.

About the the A6400 you are probably correct, it will do things Fuji can't, although speed has never meant "getting the shot" with sony.

However the XT100 is way superior to the hopeless XT20 regarding focussing. Or is it just the much better 15-45 kitlens?

I agree with the Sony comment, when i had the a6000 the dancing squares were fast but not accurate all the times. Anyway they were better in AF-C than the X-T1 or X-T10 at the time.

Now about the Fuji X-T100 being way superior to the X-T20, did you mean to write the other way around? The X-T20 is superior in both AF-C and AF-S, although the X-T100 is fine for most uses, depending on what you want to shoot.

I had the TX20 with 16-50 kit and it was hopeless. The new kitlens (or the XT100) are a much more effective & reliable combo, in my experience.
