Sharpness: is Pana 12-60/2.8-4 as sharp as Pana 12-35/2.8?

I'm contemplating a G9, already have older 12-35/2.8 Mk1 along with a 7-14/4 from earlier days with m43, and my wife has a G85 used mostly with the 14-140Mk1.

If you've owned either of the 12-35/2.8 versions, and also the newer 12-60/2.8-4, how would you compare the general sharpness to the 12-35 (either version)?  Rightly or wrongly, I'm assuming the two versions of the 12-35 are the same or similar optically.

I appreciate that the focal length of the 12-60 is more versatile . . . no need to comment there.  All I want to know is how the 12-60 compares in the sharpness department.  And of course if it's reasonably good into edges and corners, if anyone has checked.

I'd mostly shoot from f4 - f8, so the f2.8 at 24mm on the new zoom doesn't matter much to me.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Brian
