Gear weight for travel: where is the minimum??
1

For me travel is where I want my BEST gear, not a compromise.

Since I am in the process of packing for my next trip I weighed (thanks 156 grams!!) the total gear (excluding the tripod, but including filters, batteries and chargers) is 2850 grams.

Disappointing as it may be it doesn't feel heavy.

Gear I will take is FUJI X-T3, 56/1.2 and 14/2.8 plus the SONY RX1R2. 3 batteries each (SONY really awful .. might throw in a fourth one...) plus an ND128 and ND1000, 3 adapter rings for the 67mm NDs, wired remote trigger, 4x16GB and 2x32GB SD cards, SD to USB-C adapter, 128GB M.2 external HDD.

HUAWEI P20 for file management wasn't part of the 2850 grams.

I am not The Greg so what I will leave at home is the 16/1.4 23/1.4 35/1.4 90/2.0 and 50-230/4.5-6.7 plastic.

What I might have had some use for is the 35/1.4 (might actually throw it in in a weak moment) but the RX with its 42 Mpx could be close enough to the 35/1.4 - but I like the 35 ... tough one this one.

And here is my question: apart from going all-in, like "only" taking an X100F or the RX1R2, where could one possibly downsize/downscale the above items?? I thought I could maaaaybe just take the 35/1.4 and leave the 56 ... but ...

So apart from the 35/1.4 it's all set but still .. 2.85 kg??
