EOS Utility versions confusion

Hi all - I'm *so* confused about the differences between the *3* versions of Canon EOS Utility that came with the latest set of Canon software installs, as they seem to all be valid live versions and have overlapping but not the same functionality. Similarly "Image Transfer Utility 2" also has overlapping but different functionality.  So Canon seem to be supporting at least 4 different programs for things like image transfer.....is there a page anywhere describing the differences and which is the best to use for different functions?

Secondary question: I mostly have been using Image Transfer Utility 2 for wifi-based transfer of images from camera to laptop. It is *very* slow - takes at least a minute or two per image....does that sound right?   It is much faster of course to use the USB cable, but the annoying thing there is that the Canon software keeps a *separate* record of which images have been transferred over cable vs over wifi - hence it wants to download everything twice ultimately.....urgh!

Thanks.
